The recent field orientation patrol on February 4th was a huge success, led by Fisheries Resource Volunteer Corps (FRVC) President Dave Baumgartner. The goal of the event was to provide a hands-on experience for new volunteers and give them an opportunity to see the work that the FRVC does firsthand. Current volunteers also had the chance to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with the new recruits.
The patrol started at the San Gabriel Canyon Gateway and visited the West Fork, North Fork, and even the East Fork. It was an excellent opportunity for current volunteers to show the new recruits the ropes, and for anyone who had never been to these sites to see what they had been missing. The experienced volunteers shared their passion for preserving the natural beauty and resources of the San Gabriel River Canyon, and helped to instill this same dedication in the new volunteers.
The event was held on Saturday, February 4th and began at 8:00 am at the Gateway. We would like to extend our gratitude to all of the volunteers who participated and made this event a success. We follow the Leave No Trace principles, which emphasizes the importance of protecting the environment and preserving it for future generations to enjoy.
Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the work of the FRVC. We hope to continue working together to preserve the natural beauty of the San Gabriel River Canyon for generations to come.
