Join the Fisheries Resource Volunteer Corps (FRVC) for a stream patrol on Piru Creek! This scenic creek is home to a population of wild rainbow trout and is a popular spot for fishing, camping, and hiking.

Physical Difficulty: Moderate - Must be able to hike 2 to 4 miles on trail with rocky terrain. The trail may be steep in places and can be slippery when wet. Some stream crossings may be required.

Directions to FRVC Shed: The FRVC Shed for Piru Creek is located at the Piru Creek Ranger Station. Take the 5 freeway to the 126 freeway, exit north on Piru Canyon Road. Continue on Piru Canyon Road for approximately 8 miles to the Piru Creek Ranger Station.

Patrol Access Point & Boundaries: To reach the trailhead for the Piru Creek patrol, park at the Piru Creek Ranger Station and take the trail that starts at the station. The patrol is a hiking patrol that covers 2 to 4 miles, depending on the abilities of the patrol participants. The patrol is focused on the mile section above the confluence with the Piru Creek.

Angler Survey Box & Fishing Regulations: There is one angler survey box at the Piru Creek Ranger Station. At the present time, there are no special fishing regulations on Piru Creek, however, that may change, once the management plan is implemented for this Wild and Heritage Trout Stream.
