Join the Fisheries Resource Volunteer Corps (FRVC) for a safety table event at the Ice House Canyon Trailhead on December 2nd, 2023 from 8:00am to 12:00pm!
This event is open to all hikers and backpackers, regardless of experience level. Our volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions about safety in the mountains, including:
How to prepare for a winter hike
What to do if you encounter snow or ice
How to stay safe in the event of an emergency
What to expect:
Our volunteers will set up a table at the Ice House Canyon Trailhead
We will have a variety of safety information available for you to learn about.
Our volunteers will be happy to answer any questions you have about safety in the mountains.
Please note: Portions of the Ice House Canyon Trail are could be covered in ice, possibly snow. Hiking at high elevations in winter/spring/and even early to mid-summer requires experienced mountaineering skills and is not recommended for those unprepared for extreme conditions that can change very quickly. Always check the local weather report and ‘know before you go’
