Actively Recruiting Volunteers 🎣

Join Fisheries Resource Volunteer Corps (FRVC) for a stream patrol on Mill Creek and Mountain Home Creek! These beautiful creeks are home to populations of small rainbow trout and are popular spots for fishing, and hiking. Mill Creek and Mountain Home Creek patrols offer a chance to explore a picturesque area while making a difference in preserving it.

Physical Difficulty: Mill Creek - Easy - Must be able to hike 1.3 miles over flat and rocky terrain at a 4,200' elevation. Mountain Home Creek - Easy - Must be able to hike 1 mile over rocky terrain.

Angler Survey Box & Special Fishing Regulations: There are no angler survey boxes or special fishing regulations on Mill Creek or Mountain Home Creek. The standard California Department of Fish and Wildlife daily bag and possession limit of five fish applies on Mill Creek and Mountain Home Creek.

As families and individuals enter the San Gabriel Canyon, they stop at the Gateway to get the latest updates and ask questions. It is the perfect time to talk to visitors about Leave No Trace, where to fish, where to find water play, the best hikes in the area, etc. If you are interested in working with the public and have some time to volunteer, get in touch.
